On a world wide scale Hong Kong is a very popular destination, but on a Asian scale Hong Kong is the most frequently visited city with 15.5 million people visiting Hong Kong during 2003. While most came by air through Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) many also arrived by land and sea. While many of these visitors were tourists, Hong Kong also attracts many visitors from adjacent countries such as Taiwan and business visitors.

Hong Kong is also recognized a leading worldwide city in which to do business. Hong Kong International Airport is also one of the busiest in the world. In 2003, a total of 26.8 million passengers passed through the airport.

Hong Kong is located in the very South East of China and is supremely located at the centremost of a quickly advancing South East Asia. Hong Kong has a area of just over 1,100 square kilometres which includes Hong King Island, the New territories and the Kowloon Peninsula and the 250 plus islands scattered around the region. Tourists flock to Hong Kong for a wide variety of reasons.
