The Star Ferry

The Star Ferry has operated between the main island of Hong Kong and Kowloon and has been in operation heretofore since 1898. One of the most breathtaking ferry trips in the world today is the Star Ferry. The cost of this breathtaking ferry trips is only a few dollars - worth every cent for the 7 short minutes that the ferry takes.

There is actually more than one Star Ferry company, each operating insignificantly contradistinct paths between the two destinations. The path that everyone takes is always between the two same points, the pier on Kowloon which is located near to the Center of Culture and Hong Kong Island.

The total journey times is circa 7 mintues and when purchasing tickets you have the choice between the lower deck and the opper deck with is only slightly more expensive. If you are taking the trip simply to enjoy the view it is well worth the extra expense. The journey takes an average of 7 minutes

When the journey begins there is so much to take in that is seems hard to concentrate on any particular area. The skysrapers seem to surround you and into the distance. While the architecture is fantastic the water areas will also hold your attention as many small boats populate the area. This is a great experience when in Hong Kong and we highly recommend it.
